Harpoon 1/Classic/97
Harpoon 97 - Produced by Interactive Magic, Harpoon 97 is available for Windows 95 or greater. It contains the scenario editor, all the scenarios that have been included in the previous versions plus 50 new scenarios which gives a total of 250 scenarios. The new scenarios are in the EC2000 battleset created by B.I. Hutchinson. The new scenarios take place in the four battleset arenas that all ready exist. The interface is much improved and now gives a "textured" look to land areas. The new battlesets include many new platforms. Most planes now have tanker loadouts for extended missions.
Harpoon Classic - Alliance Interactive Software took over development of the game when 360 went bankrupt. Alliance went in and fixed many of the bugs that existed in the earlier versions of both the DOS and Mac versions of the original. They also developed a version for Windows which allows PC users to now run scenarios larger than 640K. The windows version along with its scenario editor allows the development and playing of larger scenarios than were possible in the DOS version.
Harpoon Classic comes with all the battlesets and the two designer series that were developed for the original Harpoon. Alliance has added a third designer series that brings the total number of scenarios included to 200. All of your older scenarios written for the DOS version will run on the new Classic. Macintosh versions 1.0 through 1.2 are not compatible with Harpoon Classic. Below you will find the latest updates for Harpoon Classic, these will not work on Harpoon I version 1.32 or earlier.
