Mike, that sounds like excellent-tactics against the AI. What I would do in that situation is boot-up in my fav Scenedit Mode and throw about 22 ADVCAP Prowler and 44 to 66 AIM-54 Tomcats on an "introduced" CV. Then I would launch about half of these "introduced" aircraft on an AAW mission with two reference points closely set in the direction of the US CBG. I would set mission radar and ECM "on" and sweep everything on the US-side that is not a ship or sub into the sea, adding additiional aircraft if necessary. I would not allow the US CBG to get too close, otherwise a *Huge missle-strike from that side would wipe out your base and severely damage any unprotected surface units. Next, I would add any surviving Prowlers, with 2 Harms and ECM Pod(s), to your surface strike air-groups to knock out US air-search, and fire-control radars, while adjusting your reference points as desired. If you want a More-challenging game, I suggest adding an Admiral Knutesenov (or two?) to the US AI side. You can adjust that compliment of aircraft and aid the AI by tayloring missions and loadouts, before switching back to the non US/AI side. I realize this is a highly unorthadox(!) method of play. Nevertheless, Highly entertaining and explosive(!) results are achieved with careful (or careless*) planning. Respectfully submitted, ~ Don M. :)
